To our Dearest SNEers,

It's Kristen and Eddie here! It will be our last post from this blog so we just wanted to make it official. As of your March Area General Assembly, we will no longer be serving as chapter heads for Scarborough Northeast. Scarborough Northeast is officially part of Scarborough East with your new chapterheads Noel Aquino and Christine Ates!

Looking back on the past year, it is hard to believe how much we have learned and grown in such a short time. Through the grace of God, alongside each and every one of you, we have accomplished more for this chapter and this organization than we had ever imagined. The people we met and the friends we made here have changed our lives forever!

Our journey could not have been completed alone, and for that, we would like to give thanks, especially to God who has truly blessed us. To Mr. & Mrs. Canlas and Armi & Miguel, thank you for your unconditional love and support. To the leaders of the Scarborough Northeast Core, thank you for showing us that we'll always have someone serving by our sides. And to the Scarborough Northeast members, we looked up to each and everyone one of you for inspiration and we truly saw God’s presence in all of you; we will miss our great times. To our successors, we wish you all the best on your incredible adventures! No doubt, you all will work wonders through God, and with God!

Thinking back to our February General Assembly, always remember, that wherever God calls us to go, and whatever we choose to do in life, we are all CONNECTED. As witnessed with our stories and our sharings, clearly this past year with SNE was filled with so many blessings. The past year was truly a dream! Because we were so blessed, we can now form new paths, new dreams, new experiences with others. C3 Love - Markham, Durham and SNE - they were all dreams that we all helped create together. Now more than ever, we need to build on this dream so that others may feel the same love and faith we all have experienced!

So as for us, we will definitely be around! We promise! We are just in the neighbouring area! Kristen will be serving as KFC Program Head in Capital Northeast and Eddie is the Community Program Head there as well. Our journeys in faith are still going strong. We cannot wait to see where the rest of our service will take us! We cannot wait to see where God will take us!

This weekend we will be attending the HSB Pep Rally!

Straight from the event details... "The main purpose of this event is to get everyone hyped up for the coming high school year and create more awareness within the sector about the program. For those in university, you guys are more than welcome to attend; this event is not strictly for high school students. We have a lot of exciting things be gwannin' for all of you (activities, praise fest, food, fellowship, live band) all for a SMALL ENTRANCE FEE of $4.00! So...if you want to be cool, you better come. For our dearest members, please enjoy a FREE WEEKEND and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Next week will be our next event! We will be volunteering at GOOD SHEPHERD REFUGE!
SPACES ARE LIMITED SO IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GO, LET US KNOW ASAP!

What: Volunteering at Good Shepherd Refuge
Where: Good Shepherd Centre
When: Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9:00 AM — 3:30 PM
Why: To be a champion of the poor and answer the call for social justice!

- We will be helping the Good Shepherd Refuge, a Christian homeless and rehabilitation centre, with simple tasks e.g. preparing food, making beds, sweeping floors
- We need at least 25 to go in total as a Cluster
- Free food will be served
- LAST DAY TO RESERVE A SPOT WILL BE Tuesday, October 14, 2008 (evening). HOUSEHOLD HEADS WILL BE IN TOUCH!

EXCERPT FROM OUR CLUSTER HEADS EMAIL:
Praise God for everything that has happened up to this point. It's amazing and so mysterious how God moves and works in our lives, specifically in our service. If you've been in the community for more than a year, you probably noticed that change is no stranger. We go through change because we need to. Molding clay is never the same when being formed into what it's supposed to be, just like this community and this Cluster. God is molding each and every one of us according to His Plan and with that comes the unfamiliar. However, what's important is that we focus on the familiar Love that we all know. God's Love. So as things change, let's never lose sight of what matters the most, and that is Love—to Love.

this is Kristen Paguiligan and Eddie Lamson, your NEW SCARBOROUGH NORTH EAST CHAPTERHEADS!!! for those of you who weren't able to make it out to the Sector GA on Saturday, we would just like to inform you of the changes occurring in our chapter/cluster! our outgoing chapterheads Josh and Steph were called on to new service within YFC. Josh was moved up to serve as Cluster Head for Metro East 3 and Steph has been asked to serve as Campus President at University of Toronto Scarborough Campus. We thank them for all their hard work and dedication to SNE and wish them all the best with their new service!

Our chapter (Northeast) is inviting everyone (CFC's/YFC's/KFC's) for a picnic this coming Sunday, August 26th from 10:00 p.m. - 8:00 am at Thompson Park . This will be our summer fun activity for the whole chapter.

Since we just finished Conference, let's "loosen up" a bit and enjoy the rest of the summer with fun games!

Directions:
By Car
- The park is located at the northeast corner of Brimley and Lawrence.
- The car entrance is located south of the traffic light at Brimley and Dorcot.
- There is parking located inside.

From Scarborough Town Centre:

What: One big gathering of youths from all over east Canada, a three day experience of a lifetime!

Cost before July 9th, 2007 - $180.00
Cost after July 9th, 2007 - $195.00

**This means, get your forms and money in to your chapter heads ASAP so that you can save money. Please note that if you only give a deposit before July 9th, you will still have to pay the remainder of the new price when you pay the rest....

There has been 40 spots reserved for Scarborough NorthEast. They have all been claimed. Don't be discouraged about that. There are still going to be spots available for you. After July 9th, the reserved spots for every delegation will not be reserved anymore and any chapter who doesn't meet their quota can give their spots away to other chapters. For now, reserve your spot with your chapter heads and they will handle your reservation for you.

Meet at Scarborough Town Centre Station on the platform in between the bus level and the subway level @ 10:00AM. We will wait for everyone until 10:30AM. After that, you will have to find your own way there. If Durham people can meet up here as well, then that would be great.

What up yo!

Let us praise and thank God for a very fun-filled General Assembly this past weekend! Although it was more like fun in partly cloudy skies with a tad of sun and a drizzle of rain, we still managed to chow down, play some games, and raise an exact $100 for GK ANCOP! Good job SNE!

Now that's not it! I know a lot of you, especially us high school kids, are mad busy with school. Since this upcoming month of June will be super busy with homework, ISUs, and prep for exams, we have tried our very best to fit our events so that they won't get in the way of school! SO PLEASE REMEMBER TO PUT SCHOOL FIRST, AND LET'S TRY NOT TO NEGLECT OUR STUDIES!

THIS WEEKEND: Will be a FREE WEEKEND for all of SNE. That includes both leaders and members! So use this time to study hard for these last weeks of school!

We will be having our General Assembly this coming weekend at the park! Yep, that's right! It will most definitely be a fun-filled event, so come out and have some fun in the sun!

Where: Milliken Park (McCowan and Steeles)
Why: Fundraise for GK ANCOP (at least $2 each)

What's going down?
- Fun activities like Capture the Flag and a Scavenger Hunt
- If the weather is nice, A WATER FIGHT!
- Straight chillin', yo!
- and FOOD!
- So come prepared and bring extra clothes! Don't forget your sun block too!

IMPORTANT:
Food, cutlery, drinks and snacks will be assigned by unit and household. So members if you are unsure of what to bring, find out from your household or unit head!

By Car (From HWY 401)
- Exit McCowan Road North
- Turn Right/East on Steeles (you will be going down McCowan for a while)
- You will see the entrance of the parking lot of the park, shortly after on your right.

By Bus (From STC Station)

- Walk away from the gasoline stations. Make sure you're on the side where Tim Hortons is. Keep walking away from Tim Hortons until you see the entrance of the Park.

What up Scarborough North East!

I would like to thank all of you who showed up and participated in a very successful Pre-Conference last weekend. There was a great turn out and our chapter certainly represented well! I hope that all of you had fun with the rest of Metro East but most of all let us praise God for allowing us to have such a fun, spirit-filled, and successful event! S-N-E for G-O-D!

Now time for an update..

This weekend, we will be having events for BOTH leaders and members.

Firstly is our cluster's very first Leaders Training. This upcoming event is absolutely MANDATORY for all leaders in cluster three.

Who: Durham, Scarborough North East, Markham York Region LEADERS (Community Program Only - Other program leaders will be invited by program heads if needed)
What: Leaders Training
When: Saturday, April 28th, 2007 (1:00 - 7:30PM)
Where: St. Bernadette Catholic Church (Durham - Ajax)

- Get on the Highway 401, going east.
- Exit Westney Road, South
- Turn left (east) on Bayly
- You will see the church on your right side, after Harwood

Transportation:
If you need a ride to this meeting please tell your chapter heads, Josh and Steph, know as soon as possible.

IMPORTANT: Every leader is obliged to go to this meeting. There should not be any reason for anyone to skip this training. If you are committed to serve, please make the effort to show up for the entire training.

Why: We're going to be planting trees to do our part as a KFC Community in being good stewards of the Earth!

- McCowan Rd. becomes Danforth Rd, so before that road, there is an intersection called Furlong Ct. & McCowan, turn East (on McCowan) and keep heading straight.
